Decorating Depot Policies
Hardware and Screws- All hardware is provided by the manufacturer, with the possible exception of screws. Depending on the application it may be necessary to purchase your own screws. In most applications a #6x 1 ¾ inch screw is appropriate. However, depending on whether you will be mounting the treatment into drywall, concrete, wood or metal, this could be different. For this reason many manufacturers do not send screws.
Window Measurements - Decorating Depot cannot be held responsible for window measurements. There is no way that we can verify the window size, therefore the customer is responsible for all sizes. If a window is measured wrong, there will be no returns as the window treatments are all custom made. We will be happy to order another blind for you, but we cannot give you a credit for blinds that are not measured correctly. Please refer to our measuring instructions or our measuring video to help assure that your measurements are correct.
Color Accuracy - Due to the many variations in monitors and browsers, color samples may appear different on different monitors. Computer monitors are not all calibrated equally and color reproduction on the Internet is not precise. Since it is not possible to guarantee our online colors will look the same on all computers, we do not guarantee that what you see accurately portrays the color of the actual window treatment. We do our very best to make sure our samples are as close to the exact product as possible, but cannot guarantee that what you see is an exact sample. If it is important that the sample be exact, it is highly recommended that you order a sample first, before placing the order for your blinds. We offer to ship you up to 5 free samples (if the manufacturer has them) and as many extra as you like for a small service charge, so please take advantage of this service. After you receive your samples, keep in mind that even the actual sample can have minimal color variations from the finished product as stated by our manufacturers.
In most cases the samples on line will work for most people if it’s a white or off white, but dark colors and especially stained colors would be best to order a sample first. They may vary slightly from the actual product and there are also dye lot changes in the material, and we cannot be responsible for these differences.
Note: Just because products have the same color name that does not mean they are the same exact color. Also don’t mistake the color name to be what you may think that color should be. Example, just because a color may have the name Pecan, does not mean it will necessarily look like what most people would consider to be a Pecan color. Please do not order using color names as your guide, always request a sample. Please order samples of all products you wish to consider purchasing to avoid any confusion and color mistakes.
Bamboo Shades Disclaimer: Bamboo products are especially prone to color variances and we cannot be responsible for dye lot variations. If you are choosing a natural wood such as bamboo, you must accept that no two-bamboo pieces are alike and they will vary. Since our Bamboo Shades are made from real bamboo wood their color and pattern can vary a great deal from a sample to the actual shade that you order. The color can vary from a mild greenish tint to a more natural brown color. This can be even more so if you order your bamboo blinds at different times as the material lot will vary from one batch of material to another. To get as close as possible, it is recommended that you order all the blinds at once for a particular area. The sample should be used to only get an idea of the string/ladder placement and a general feel for the products pattern.
By checking the box on the checkout screen you are agreeing that you have read, understand and agree to these terms. There are no returns on custom bamboo products due to color variances.
Fabric Back Lighting - Back lighting is caused from light filtering through the fabric. This can cause the fabric to appear translucent, and may soften the actual fabric. The samples that you see online do not reflect back lighting. Again, if this is a concern, please order a sample of the fabric first.
Orders Outside the U.S.- Decorating Depot will ship orders outside the U.S. but this is not included in the free shipping. We have no way of knowing what your exact shipping charges will be until you let us know where it will be going. For all orders being shipped outside the U.S. please contact customer service.
Security Policy - All orders placed online will be encrypted before they are sent to us. This ensures your privacy, and that no one will get access to your personal information. We will never disclose or sell your personal information to anyone. All personal information you provide us will remain completely confidential. Shipping Information - Decorating Depot will ship your orders free via UPS or FED-EX as long as the ship to address is in the contiguous 48 states of the U.S. (For orders outside the US see below*) Free shipping only applies to boxed orders that are under 95 inches in length. All products are shipped FOB from the nearest manufacturing facility closest to you. If your package is over 95 inches in length, it will be shipped FOB via common carrier from the nearest manufacturing facility to you. There will be shipping charges for any order that the box is over 95 inches in length. Please see below for shipping charges for orders that do not meet these terms.
- If the boxed order exceeds 95 inches in length there will be an $ 75.00 shipping fee added per manufacturer. (If more than one manufacturer is ordered from, it is $ 75.00 for each one.
- There is a packaging fee of $60.00 for all shutter orders per order.
These charges only apply to orders over 95 inches in boxed length, as well as all shutter orders. For all other orders shipping is free!
*Orders OUTSIDE the contiguous 48 states of the United States: We will ship to Alaska, Hawaii, Canada and Puerto Rico for a shipping charge of $40.00 per blind. This is for UPS or FED-EX ground shipping and will require extra shipping time. Orders outside the contiguous 48 states of the U.S. do not apply to our normal shipping times. We do have Next Day and Second Day air available, but this will be in addition to the $40.00 per blind shipping charge. Please call customer service for this service. The normal production time for the blinds will be the same. For orders shipped to other Countries, please contact customer service for rates.
Since we use different manufacturers for different products, if you order from more than one manufacturer they may arrive at different times. This is because we ship each product, as it is ready, and do not hold the order up while waiting for everything. This assures you will get the product in the fastest time possible.

Delivery Times - All delivery times are an estimate, and cannot be guaranteed due to problems that could arise from back orders, shipping delays or natural acts. All days are "working days" and do not include weekends or holidays. We do our best to assure that you product arrives in a timely manner, but cannot be held responsible for delays.
Sales Tax - Unless internet sales tax laws change, Decorating Depot will never charge sales tax on any internet sell, to anyone, in any state. We will pick up the sales tax for customers in Arizona.
Payment Options - All window treatments are custom made, and cannot be returned. All orders must be paid in full at the time of the order using a credit card. If you wish to pay for your order by cashiers check or money order, you can mail the payment to our office. Order will not be put into production until we receive payment. Personal checks are also accepted but require a hold of 5-7 days to clear before we can start your order. Please use a credit card for the fastest service.
Changes, Cancellations and Refunds - All our window treatments are custom made and therefore cannot be returned for any reason other than a defect in the product or damage from shipping. Orders go into production almost immediately, therefore it is important that you have checked your order for accuracy before you place it. Your credit card is processed at the time of the order and debited for the full amount of the sale, this is required on all custom orders. If you want to change your order after it is in production it cannot be done. If you cancel the order you will still be responsible for payment, and no refunds will be given. You are agreeing to these terms by clicking on the box at the time of your order.
Discontinued or Back Ordered items - Decorating Depot cannot be held responsible for discontinued or back ordered items, as we have no control over this. We will do the very best in making sure all of our products are current, but due to the many manufacturers we use, back orders and discontinued product could happen without our knowledge.
Inspections of Merchandise - Please inspect your merchandise as soon as you receive it. Contact Decorating Depot immediately if the merchandise has been damaged in shipping. If there is a problem with your merchandise, Decorating Depot will have your product repaired or replaced at no cost to you, as long as you let us know within 3 business days of receipt of your product. All claims made after 3 days will incur a service charge.
Warranties - All warranties are from the manufacturer and are included with your order. Each product will have a different warranty. Please click on the warranty information on the specific product located on the website. The manufacturer, not Decorating Depot, will handle all warranties.
Arbitration - If we cannot settle a dispute, and the need for Arbitration arises, arbitration will be handled by an arbitrator located in Mesa, Arizona. The hearing relating to said arbitration will be held at a mutually agreeable location within Maricopa County, Arizona. The arbitrator will apply United States law, and will award the substantially prevailing party its costs and reasonable attorneys fees.
Terms and Conditions - By clicking the "I Agree" box on the billing checkout screen in the Decorating Depot shopping cart at the time of my order I understand that I am placing an order for custom made products and that that custom made products cannot be returned as they have been custom fit for my windows and cannot be reused, I also understand that orders for custom made products cannot be cancelled once the order is in production. I understand that I am responsible for the sizes, colors, and any special details that are provided on my order. I understand that it is my responsibility to make sure I understand how to measure my windows and that I am satisfied with my measurements because I either understand the blind terminology used in ordering custom window treatments, I have read through the terminology provided on the Decorating Depot website or I have called customer service and had this explained to me in a way that I am sure I know how to place an order for custom Window Treatments. I am satisfied with the color selection and have either chosen the color on-line or had a sample sent to me for inspection; and I understand that I am responsible for the color selection, sizes, install mount type (inside or outside) and all other aspects needed to properly order and install custom window treatments. I agree not to back charge my credit card for mistakes that I made in measuring, color selection, installation or wrong shipping information. I understand that Decorating Depot has no way of knowing that the measurements I provide are correct, and therefore is not responsible for making new blinds or shades if the measurements I provide are wrong or I did not properly order the blinds or shades as an inside or outside mount or other option. I understand that I have been informed that I cannot return custom blinds and shades and if I do so anyway, that I will still not receive a refund or credit and by doing so in no way releases me from my credit card purchase. If a mistake is made by Decorating Depot or one of their suppliers or shippers, I agree to give them the opportunity to correct the problem first, before seeking a credit. I understand there are no refunds on custom made products unless they are damaged or the product that is delivered is not the product that was ordered. I understand that the information on my order is correct and I have verified this. If there is a damaged product, I agree to give Decorating Depot the chance to have the product replaced with new product, before seeking a refund. All repairs or replacements will receive top priority and will be rushed, but we cannot be responsible for delays in shipping. I also agree to read through the confirmation email that is sent to me and notify Decorating Depot of any mistakes within 24 hours of placing my order. I understand it is my responsibility to notify Decorating Depot if I do not receive an email order confirmation and that Decorating Depot is not responsible for my not receiving an email confirmation due to a wrong email address, misdirected emails or other internet problems associated with my not receiving my email order confirmation. You are agreeing to all the terms in this contract by putting a check in the box on the checkout screen (even if you do not read this policy or you have a customer service representative of Decorating Depot place your order for you).
Accuracy and Confirmation Policy - Because Decorating Depot cannot check the accuracy of the sizes you provided on your custom blind order, we cannot be held responsible for incorrect sizes or any mistakes made in choosing color or options. We offer online ordering so the customer can enter their own sizes and options, but we have no way of knowing if these sizes are correct or not. You are responsible for all window sizes. We also offer to take your order over the phone. When we take your order by phone we read back the entire order to you and ask at that time if it is correct. When you confirm that it is correct, we check an electronic signature box stating that you have confirmed the sizes and all other parts of the order and that it is correct. An email receipt of the order is also emailed to you for inspection. If there are any discrepancies after you receive your blinds, this is the ONLY document we will use to determine where the fault lies. We cannot see any documents you may have with your sizes on them, so those documents will not be used. The receipt will be the ONLY document used in determining order accuracy. It is the customers responsibility to make sure they receive their receipt, and if not let Decorating Depot know. If the product you receive is the size stated on this receipt, the mistake would be the responsibility of the customer, not Decorating Depot or the manufacturer. If it is not the same, then the blind will be remade at no cost to you. It is your responsibility to make sure the order is accurate and let Decorating Depot know of any inaccuracies or changes that need to be made within 24 hours of order placement. Once an order goes into production it cannot be changed without an extra charge to you. All orders must have the box checked and all customers must agree to this policy or we cannot process your order, you are giving your acknowledgment that the order was confirmed and you agree to the sizes, colors and options on the order. This is a custom order and cannot be changed or cancelled once order is in production. You are agreeing to this and all our policies by placing this custom blind order. To make sure all orders are correct and limit the possibility for mistakes, please look over the confirmation you receive very carefully.
